SUMMARY
Nonviolent Communication (NVC) is a clear and effective model for developing the spiritual consciousness, personal competance and organisational skill needed to establish and maintain productive partnerships that express the deepest human values for a peaceful, just, safe and loving world.

NVC guides us to reframe how we express ourselves and how we hear others by focusing our consciousness on what we are observing, feeling, needing, and requesting. It distinguishes what we want from how we get it, replacing antagonism with heart based empathy.

During the last 35 years, Nonviolent Communication has been introduced to many thousands of people by international mediator Marshall Rosenberg, PhD and a team of associates. The training they provide is helping prevent and resolve conflicts in schools, businesses, health care centers, prisons, trade unions, churches, NGOs, local government, community groups, villages, urban centres and families in over 30 countries on 5 continents.

NVC is coordenated globally by CNVC. In Brazil an international project aims to establish centres of mediation skills for communities in conflict in 10 state capitals by 2004 and gather statistical evidence of reduced levels of violence.
