Project: CISV - Educating Young People for Peace

SUMMARY
CISV is a volunteer organization that has a non-formal EDUCATIONAL PROJECT, proposing to prepare individuals to become contributing members of a peaceful society,stimulating the development of friendship, communication skills, cooperative abilities and leadership towards a just and fair world.
A variety of programs with themes and activities in multi-cultural situations are developed to prepare participants to get able to make positive contributions within the social contexts. They´re: Village, a camp for 11 year old children from different countries; Interchange, a family centered program between 2 countries for 12-15 years; Summer Camp, for youth of the same age; Seminar Camp for older individuals (17-18 years of age) where participants assume responsibility for conducting all camp activities; IPP – International People Project, for participants older than 19 years of age participate in a specific project with the purpose of making some contribution to the community in which the program takes place; Local Work has the permanent and ongoing task of promoting peace education at local and national levels, including continuing what is learned in the mentioned programs.(www.cisv.org)
