The SESC Curumim is a permanent educational program which is characterized by ludic activities, and reserved for children from 7 to 12 years old, dependent of workers in the commerce and services. The activities include the socio-affective, psyco-cognitive and sense-motor fields.
It is applied by multi-disciplinary educators that, when meet the children in the beginning of the activities, they present ludic and sports materials, stimulating a spontaneous interaction by interest groups. The children choose some activities between the following: theater – drama games; cooking – preparation of own meals; music – choirs; literature – pleasure for reading – the making of a newspaper; arts – making of games and toys; environmental studies – ecological hikes; photography – techniques of development; sports – cooperative games.
The evaluation is made in weekly meetings and, among the qualitative results, it can be noticed an ever increasing need of a greater space to exercise the right to play. When this is obtained, the child acquires confidence and self-esteem, which are essential to the complete development. The qualitative results are measured by the attendance and assiduity of the children in the program.
