Project: Channel 6 - TV Samaritano
(ADMINISTRATION | PRINT VERSION)
SUMMARY
Television has unfolded as the principal means of communication in the last half of the 20th century. Participating in everyone’s daily life, it creates another production dynamics and cultural diffusion.

The power of images in creating mental states to influence contacts with feelings - the ability to unwind or to generate states of tension - fills our consciousness and unconsciousness with irrelevant stories or aggressive scenes.

The images are architects or guardians of social symbols and forms of behaviors that participate in the molding of our collective behavior and they affect the formation of our values and character.

To offer a TV channel for patients of Hospital Samaritano was an option of using the power of television to create propitiatory states of relaxation and well being, according to the proposal of humanized attendance.

Channel 6 proposes a differentiated programming of cultural character, with contents free from violence, the aggressiveness of speed, and of televised effects.

Prevailing images would be beautiful and of a soft manner and would include that of nature, humor, art, city history, and personalities. Also included would be an abundant amount of music and enriched information.

Sessions as: Speaking About Health, Children’s Programming, Musicals, Art Gallery, Cities, The Traditions and the Future, Documentaries, Personalities, Pleasure in Seeing, compose the 12 daily hours offered every weekday. On certain dates or occasions a special series would be presented, such as “The Brazilian People.”
