(ADMINISTRATION | PRINT VERSION)
SUMMARY
Health disclosure is one of the most important activities of modern society. The hospital as an institution has very defined functions in the community, and among the most important ones are health prevention and preservation. Hospital Samaritano has been developing a biweekly program of "Courses for the Community" for about one year, in the approach of informing and educating the population on health problems. The courses are given by doctors, that approach in practical language, the principal aspects of diseases of high relevance in the community such as: diabetes, arterial hypertension, respiratory problems, diseases of the spinal column, etc. During the classes, the attendants are enlightened about the importance of early diagnosis of the diseases and their prevention, followed by discussion among those present. We believe this is a way to contribute decisively to the education of the population in subjects of health promotion and prevention of diseases.
